Violence Lab at XXXVII. International Post Graduate Course on Victimology, Victim Assistance and Criminal Justice

In May 2023, XXXVII. International Post Graduate Course on Victimology, Victim Assistance and Criminal Justice was held at IUC, Dubrovnik. This informative course on Victimology, Victim Assistance and Criminal Justice, every year brings together more than 50 international students, and several dozen internationally renowned experts every year. It serves as an scientific platform for learning and sharing research experiences, mainly from the field of victimology, criminology, and criminal just.

This year, we had the opportunity to participate at this valuable Course. Project leader, Dr. Reana Bezić and member of the research group, Dr. Šprem, presented the Violence Research Lab project. Dr. Bezić spoke about the project itself, research team, main research objectives as well as its concept and operationalization, while Dr. Šprem presented the results of the domestic violence research from her doctoral dissertation, which were collected as part of the Violence Research Lab project. Members of the Violence Research Lab Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), Prof. dr. Davor Derenčinović, judge of the European Court for Human Rights, as well as Prof. dr. dr hc mult. Hans-Jörg Albrecht is Director Emeritus at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law in Freiburg also held presentations at the Course. This was an excellent opportunity for a meeting with SAB members regading the project.

It was an honor to participate in this important course with a long tradition and we keep hope to participate next year as well.
