Violence Lab at the ECHR with judge Davor Derenčinović

Former head of Violence Lab Prof. Dr. Getoš Kalac and actual head of Violence Lab Assist. Prof. Dr. Bezić together with Violence lab doctoral student Ms Petra Šprem conducted an official study visit to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to discuss with judge Davor Derenčinović relevant ECHR jurisprudence in the broad field of criminal justice, academia and research ethics. The study visit was conducted within the project “Study of the Perception of Criminal Law Sciences in Practice and the Media” funded by the University of Zagreb. During the visit, Judge Derenčinović, who is also a member of Violence Lab Scientific Board explained case processing and working methods at the most important Court within the Europe. He also presented the role and work of the Court, and highlighted some of the so-called ‘impact cases’ in the ECHR jurisprudence.
