Balkan Criminology core group at the ECHR with judge Davor Derenčinović

Head of Balkan Criminology Prof. Dr. Getoš Kalac and BC core group members Assist. Prof. Dr. Bezić and Ms Šprem conducted an official study visit to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to discuss with judge Davor Derenčinović relevant ECHR jurisprudence in the broad field of criminal justice, academia and research ethics. The study visit was conducted within the project “Study of the Perception of Criminal Law Sciences in Practice and the Media” funded by the University of Zagreb. During the visit, Judge Derenčinović explained case processing and working methods at the most important Court within the Europe. He also presented the role and work of the Court, and highlighted some of the so-called ‘impact cases’ in the ECHR jurisprudence. Visit group had an exceptional honor to see court rooms, hearing rooms and the library of the Court specialised in the European human rights system.
